2006 Up And Comer Ray Shoemaker Continues Success On A National Level
Ray Shoemaker has enjoyed incredible success throughout his career, both in the army and within the healthcare industry. More recently, having also established an organization called Rural Healthcare Developers, he has also turned his attention to training and mentoring healthcare professionals and is even writing a book on leadership skills.
Strong ethics of leadership and a turnaround style of management have helped Ray Shoemaker throughout his career and Ray attributes a lot of this ethos to his time in the army when he rose the rank of Captain. Following his time in the forces, Ray first helped to turn the fortunes of a struggling healthcare center in Mississippi before successfully establishing a new Behavioral Unit in another institute and then Chief Operating Office and finally Chief Executive Office.
Modern Healthcare magazine, in 2006, awarded Ray the “Up and Comers Award” which is awarded to leaders within the healthcare industry that are below the age of 40. He has also been dubbed the Turnaround King by Memphis Business Journal and has regularly featured in various local and national presses.
Rural healthcare Developers is one of Ray’s latest initiatives and is an organization that has primarily been established to help rural areas enjoy the same high quality level of healthcare as is enjoyed in cities and large towns. This is done through thorough analysis and the placing of professional, ethical managers in the health centers. They also offer training seminars and training for young up and coming healthcare managers and professionals.
